Step 6 - Developing your Brand
Posting to Social Media
"The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit."
Keep posting! Stay alive! Stay inspiring! People ARE watching. Remember, YOU are the brand. Not Beachbody (they are your partner). People will be attracted to YOU.
Now that you are officially a coach, you need to make sure you are sharing your story and posting to social media consistently. Social Media is an incredible platform to share your journey. In order to leverage it to grow your business, aim to post at least 1x per day to your Instagram grid (your "Storefront") or Facebook page, and 5+ IG stories per day. This may seem like a lot at first but keep in mind that only a small percentage of your newsfeed actually sees your daily posts. Plus IT WORKS.
It helps if you focus on just documenting your life instead of trying to create content. Your daily posts can consist of a mixture of health & wellness related posts AND just your daily life and should do at least one of the following:
-
EDUCATE: Focus on adding value to people/loving on people and sharing things that help you. Is it informative? Does it help to solve a problem you have had? It does NOT have to be fitness/nutrition related.
-
INSPIRE: Add text to photos of yourself to turn common quotes into your own; Personal development quotes, share a pic of YOU, clean eating pics, workout pics.
-
ENTERTAIN: Funny or entertaining, food pics when you aren’t eating clean too.
-
ENGAGE: Ask questions that you would actually answer. Ask people’s opinion on things: ex type of takeout order, this or that: which shoe, which dress, recommendations on vacations/bathing suits.
The KEY is... You need to speak to the things YOUR IDEAL CUSTOMER OR COACH would want to be educated, inspired or entertained by! Your vibe attracts your tribe! (Here is a tip... your ideal customer is likely someone just like YOU!)
For my daily workout clips I use these apps:
Timelapse on my phone
Quik is a video editing app I LOVE
PhotoGrid - I create a 2x2 grid so I can show 4 exercise clips at once
Check out my social media tips here!:
The short list:
-
Make sure your account is public.
-
Profile picture: Smiling pic of just you. This does not need to be a professional picture
-
Have your IG & Facebook accounts just be your name ex: Kate Bullard
-
Photo Apps: Think clean & bright! Sometimes all I do is brighten my photo or put it through a preset in adobe lightroom app.
-
Stay alive! Post often! Especially on your stories!
-
Engage!
Tell Your Story!!
One of the most important parts of social media is learning how to tell your story! Please review Ashly's training on telling YOUR story and making sure you have the most effective posts possible by just being honest, AND strategic! She keeps it real! And she has a really interesting method here that WORKS!

SPEAKING TO YOUR BEST CUSTOMER/TEAMMATE
In order to attract in more of your best customers and teammates, you must identify who they are. Start by writing down the names of your 5 BEST customer/teammates ever. Then, with them in mind, answer these questions:
Traits & Struggles:
How would you describe her?
What made her an ideal customer/teammate?
What were her struggles? What are her struggles now?
Where was she in her journey when she came to you?
Why did she come to you?
What did she need?
What are her pain points?
What does she want most in life?
What does she secretly fear?
Why was it important for her to take action and invest in what you offer?
What do all of your 5 BEST have in common?
How did what you offer solve her problems?
What makes her different from clients/teammates who are NOT ideal?
Background:
What is her Education Level?
What is her Career/Income Level?
Where is she located
What is her martial status/ season of family life she is in?
Shows she watched, stores she shops (this is how you find her)
Interests:
What are your values/beliefs/faith?
What are her hobbies?
What are her favorite tv shows?
What books does she read/podcasts she listens to?
Where does she shop?
What experts/influencers does she already follow?
